Our first capital campaign will be to raise funds for the construction of a new 21,000 square-foot library in Bay Point.
The library will be an anchor point within a transit-oriented development, which includes residential, commercial, and retail space. The new library will replace the existing 4,000 square foot library currently housed in a middle school and only open to community members outside of school hours. The new, modern, state-of-the-art library will bring abundant resources, services, and programming to the community and enhance quality of life for all its residents.
Unlike other communities in Contra Costa, as an unincorporated area, Bay Point has neither a municipal funding source nor a devoted library foundation to enhance baseline county funding.
